The San Antonio Friendship Group is happy to announce our 2026 local scholarship recipient is Tierra Bowie. Tierra, demonstrated outstanding academic excellence and submitted an exceptional essay on the importance of friendship. This fall, she will be attending Prairie View A&M University,
we are incredibly proud of her accomplishments.
We wish her continued success and all the best as she begins this exciting new chapter in her educational journey.

The San Antonio Friendship Group is one of six chapters of an organization dedicated to sustaining and maintaining active friendships among individuals. Friendship group chapters are active in the following cities, Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, Nashville, Charleston and of course San Antonio.
The annual financial assessment, dues for the San Antonio Friendship Group is $100.00. The local chapter meets once monthly (excluding July and December). The SAFG co-sponsors an annual Christmas party and at least one group celebration.
All Friendship Group chapters meet annually in July. The location of the annual four-day convocation rotates each year between one of the city chapters.
Fund raisers are held at least once a year. SAFG donates $200.00 each year toward the chapters all inclusive Friendship Group scholarship fund. Contributions are also donated to other local community service organizations. During the holidays the SAFG presents food baskets to at least two needy families within the community.
To apply for membership to the San Antonio chapter one must submit an application and membership fee which will be presented at the next regular scheduled meeting and acted upon.
